Meet Anna and why it all started for Karen
Auxilliam was created to make ageing easier for families. Built by Karen Vickers, an experienced aged-care financial adviser, our mission is to deliver expert guidance and genuine human support during the most critical decisions families face.
We understand the emotional strain adult children experience when supporting ageing parents. We understand the fear seniors feel when confronted with change. We understand the pressure families feel when navigating complex systems alone.
Auxilliam bridges every gap.
We provide clarity, structure, advocacy and hands-on support, giving families confidence that nothing has been missed and everything is handled with professionalism and care.
Our Core Values
The heart of Auxilliam is guided by these core values.
Respectful
If your parent could sit in on every meeting we have about their future, would they feel like a person, or a file number?
Every plan we build starts with that question. Your parent spent a lifetime building what they have. It’s never just about the money. It’s about the person, their choices and their dignity. We help you understand and manage the financial considerations while keeping their wishes at the centre of the decisions being made..
Supportive
Who’s been carrying this for you so far? If the answer is “no one” and how long can you keep doing that alone?
You shouldn’t have to become an expert in aged care policy overnight just because your family needed you to be. We step into the parts you don’t have the time, distance, or headspace for—the paperwork, the follow-ups, the 9am-to-5pm phone queues, so you get to go back to just being family.
Advocates
We would. We don’t hand you a report and disappear. We are here to support you through the decisions and practical steps involved, providing an ongoing point of contact as you navigate the process.

Jodi Finnan
Jodi Finnan brings 18 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy and business start-ups to her role as Marketing and Partnerships Manager at Auxilliam. As the founder of her own consultancy, The Business Weapon, Jodi has built a career on turning complex ideas into clear, compelling brands and partnerships, a skill set she now brings directly to Karen and the Auxilliam mission.
What makes Jodi’s connection to this work personal is that she’s living it. As an only child, Jodi is currently navigating the aged care system firsthand alongside her own parents and experiencing the confusion, the paperwork and the high-stakes decisions that so many Auxilliam families face. That lived experience shapes everything she brings to the partnership: a genuine understanding of what families need to hear, and a determination to help others avoid the crisis moments she’s living through herself.
